As a child, I recall the days of yore,
Filled with memories, vivid and pure,
My heart brimming with innocence,
And my face beaming with happiness.
Days of laughter, play, and cheer,
With friends and cousins, ever so near,
Building sandcastles, climbing trees so high,
And catching fireflies under the starry sky.
In my small world, my dreams were vast,
I longed to soar like a bird, move fast,
To be a hero, brave and strong,
Protecting my kingdom, all day long.
But time went by, and I grew,
My kingdom shrank, my dreams anew,
Yet, I hold dear those childhood days,
Of carefree ways, and joyous displays.
