Beauty out of ashes
Let beauty come out of ashes,
Out of the appalling view of atrophy.
That which awakens the soul to act
And shines in the dark, which no picture can express,
For beauty is an emotional sunshine
Sprout out from the ground,
O’ heavens’ sweet blessing.
Bestow on us a crown of grace instead of debris,
Oil of joy instead of mourning,
A sense of hope instead of a spirit of despair,
For rare is the union of beauty and purity
O’ lay me down on a placid lake.
Speak memories on the eloquent breeze to us.
Endow us with a sense of comeback
Like the feeling of a phoenix rising out of destruction.
There’s a little light that lies within,
That illuminates the darkened earth.
Though beauty is a short-lived tyrant,
It is Gods’ own handwriting and a promise
That makes the soul sometimes walk under the moon
And lingers on till the inevitable.
